Verification Engineer
Location: 609 Castle Ridge Road, #210, Austin TX 78746

Major Responsibilities and Duties: The employee's job as a verification engineer requires an extremely high level of focus and cognitive ability, including complex problem solving in both the concrete (computer programming) and the abstract (software systems architectures, design patterns, etc). Communication with other engineers is essential, primarily written (often by email and other electronic media) but also spoken by telephone or in face-to-face meetings. Extensive domain-specific expertise is needed and deployed, including the core aspects of VLSI verification, the relevant application domains (e.g. telecommunications, automotive), and also software methodologies such as configuration management.

Read and interpret complex microchip design specification documents. Participate in design and test-plan review meetings. Produce test-plan documents for verifying the correctness of microchip designs. Write code to implement testing infrastructure for microchip sub-components and full microchip. Write code to implement test cases for microchip sub-components and full microchip. Write code to automate repetitive and/or error-prone procedures. Execute pre-silicon simulations of microchip design to verify design correctness. Investigate causes of failing tests and make suggestions for design fixes. Conduct coverage meetings to establish the degree to which testing is complete. Conduct phone screens and in-person interviews of potential candidates. Provide input for solving technical problems that arise in a project.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a directly related field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in hardware design verification including ASIC and IP
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Scripting and Verification Planning
